Turtulla, Thurles
Turtulla is a townland in Thurles civil parish in County Tipperary.〔(Thurles Civil Parish ). However, the map on this web page is a little inaccurate, because it shows the wrong townland of Turtulla as belonging to the parish - there are actually two neighbouring townlands of this name, this one in Thurles civil parish and a neighbouring one which belongs to Fertiana civil parish.〕 It is a little over 34 acres in extent.〔(Ordnance Survey map )〕
Just across the river, there is another, much larger, townland of the same name, which belongs to Fertiana civil parish.
Turtulla (Thurles) contains an island in the River Suir, at the northern end of which there used to be a flour mill.〔(Ordnance Survey map )〕
